Phil Rosenthal Houston Concert reviews
Joe Bonamassa Needs a new Sound Crew
Last Friday night at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, I saw Phil Rosenthal. The venue was awesome. I have been to many concerts. I have survived the Pit at Dave Matthews so I am not a weakling but this was awful. His words were unintelligible because the volume of the amp was so high when he sang, even though he may be the best guitarist I have ever seen. It didn't matter if it was the acoustic set or the electric set. We sat in the first dress circle area almost dead center, and it was so loud. I finally had to step out and wait till the concert ended. My husband stayed. As I sat in the upper lobby, I noticed many of the seats were taken by wives and girlfriends. There was a poor woman sitting in the lounge holding her head as I went to the restroom. There was just no escape for the overwhelmingly loud volume we were forced to endure. He had good musicians with him, but that was wasted as well. Because of the talent on the stage, I gave it 3 stars.
